Keep Your Vehicle Records Up to Date
If you move to or within DeKalb County, you must update your vehicle registration address within 30 days of establishing residency. Updates can be made in person, by mail, online, or (in certain cases) by phone.
Proof of Address
You’ll need one of the following documents showing your current DeKalb County address:
- A valid Georgia driver’s license or ID card
- A temporary license or online confirmation from the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS)
To update your driver’s license address, visit the DDS website before submitting your vehicle address change.
Ways to Update Your Address
In Person
Visit any of our three locations. Bring a valid Georgia driver’s license or ID card with your current DeKalb County address.
By Mail
Send your change of address request with the following information:
- Owner name
- VIN or Tag number(s)
- Date of birth
- Current address on file
- New address
- Proof of address (driver’s license or ID with current DeKalb County address)
Online
Submit your request through Georgia DRIVES e-Services. Upload proof of your driver’s license or ID with your DeKalb County address.
By Phone
We cannot process address changes by phone for new DeKalb County residents. If you’ve moved within DeKalb County, call 404-298-4000. Please have your VIN or Tag number available when you call.
