Titles
The information below is required for all Commercial title transactions including IRP vehicles:
- MSO or title
- Bill of sale
- Valid Georgia insurance
- IRS Form 2290 (stamped) – required for vehicles weighing 55,000 lbs or more (if required)
- T-146 Form – Georgia IRP Exemption from TAVT (IRP vehicles only)
- Representative of business must have original notarized Power of Attorney or must be owner that can be verified through Georgia Secretary of State
- Valid Georgia driver’s license or ID card with current DeKalb County address
- Georgia Sales and Use Tax Exemption ID number, if applicable
- Valid DOT number
- Taxi/Limos: Company must be currently registered with the Georgia Department of Public Safety. Vehicle owner must also provide a Letter of Affiliation on company letterhead, confirming that the individual is employed with the said company.
Registrations/Renewals (Commercial Vehicles)
For non-persons, the registration expires at the end of the business’ designated registration month based on the first letter of the business name as follows:

The registration period for vehicles weighing 26,001 to maximum weight (Non-IRP) is from December 1st through February 15th each renewal year.
The registration deadline for Permanent Trailers is February 15th of each renewal year.
A current year IRS Form 2290 is required for vehicles weighing 55,000 lbs or more

- Passing Georgia emissions test, if required
- Valid Georgia insurance
- IRS Form 2290 (stamped) – required for vehicles weighing 55,000 lbs or more
- Representative of business must have original notarized Power of Attorney or must be an owner that can be verified through Georgia Secretary of State
- Valid Georgia driver’s license or ID card with current DeKalb County address.
