DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office collects over 1,400 pounds of food during holiday food drive
DECATUR, Ga. – The DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office completed its holiday food drive, collecting 1,409 pounds of food to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The donation will help provide 1,174 meals for families in DeKalb and neighboring communities. Customers visiting any tax office location were also invited to drop off donations during the food drive.
“I want to thank our customers who joined us and contributed to the success of our holiday food drive,” said Tax Commissioner Irvin Johnson. “I especially want to recognize the employees in this office for their generosity and service to our community. Staff collected over 1,200 items to help support the Atlanta Community Food Bank serving families in need this holiday season.”

The food drive was held at the Memorial Drive, Clairmont Road and South DeKalb Mall tax office locations from Oct. 9 through Nov. 9. All collected items were donated to the food bank on Nov. 16.
