DECATUR, Ga. – Tax Commissioner Irvin J. Johnson is reminding residents that motor vehicle and property tax services are available at three office locations in DeKalb County.
“Mondays and Fridays are the busiest days at the main office located on Memorial Drive. With advance voting also taking place at the office park, customers doing business at the tag office can expect increased foot traffic and parking volume now through May 17,” said DeKalb County Tax Commissioner Irvin Johnson. “We are reminding taxpayers that the same in-person services are also available at the satellite tax offices located on Clairmont Road and in South DeKalb Mall.”
Offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., at the following locations:
- Central office at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA 30032
- North office at 3653 Clairmont Road, Chamble, GA 30341
- South DeKalb Mall at 2801 Candler Road, Decatur, GA 30034 (North end mall entrance)
The property tax office located on Memorial Drive is open until 5 p.m. Online services are available at DeKalbTax.org.
Motor vehicle customers are encouraged to join the waitlist or schedule an appointment at DeKalbTax.org to avoid wait times and long lines. Online and self-service tag renewal kiosks are also available for most services. Kiosks are located at the following locations:

Tax office services, including homestead applications, property tax payment, tag renewal, disabled placard issuance/renewal, insurance lapse payment and senior emissions waiver, are also available monthly for seniors at the following locations:
- Central DeKalb Senior Center, 1st and 3rd Mondays, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. located at 1346 Mconnell Dr., Decatur, GA 30033
- Lou Walker Senior Center, Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., located at 2538 Panola Rd., Lithonia, GA 30058
