Homestead deadline April 1

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to potential inclement weather, all tax office locations will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 21. Customers may still contact the office at 404-298-4000 from 8am-5pm, or email proptax@dekalbcountyga.gov or tag@dekalbcountyga.gov for additional assistance. Online service options for property tax and motor vehicle e-services are also available daily.

The deadline to file for homestead exemptions is April 1. Applications received after the deadline will be applied for the following year.

DeKalb homeowners are encouraged to review their exemption status. Special exemptions are available for eligible seniors, disable residents, disabled veterans or surviving spouse, surviving spouse of a U.S. service member, and surviving spouse of a peace officer or firefighter.
